Pie Compertition day

Early start today, I need to drive to Chepstow for the enjoy pubs pie comp ( oh the joys ). Day started of ok till poly cotton decided to text me the usual blah blah give me more of your money blah blah blah. At least the solicitor got a chuckle on to why it's poly. The drive was ok, I usual love driving my car but with road works it soon became a bore, then why the hell should I have to pay to enter Wales over the seven bridge???? It's such a lovely bridge as bridges go.

On to the George hotel Chepstow, on arrival it looked ok from the outside.

Check in was a differnt story, I was told I was up the top and because of this I'll be lucky if the shower works, no water pressure 

The pie cook off. Brief was best of British with minimal prep. I opted for chicken and mushroom with a hint of garlic and a scalloped potato top. Start to finish prep and cook time of 30 mins ( one of the quicker ones ) it's simple falvours and filling. Out of all 10 mine was the only gluten and dairy free one, I chose this because the owner is dairy free and my area manager is gluten free both judges ( you need to know your audience )

The feed back was exceptional, they are leaving us hanging till the morning till we find who is the champion. We discussed it between us chefs and the General censors is eith mine or one other, so here's hoping.
